WHAT IS ARTIST VOCAL DEVELOPMENT?
ARTIST VOCAL DEVELOPMENT IS NOT VOICE LESSONS !
The best analogy I can give, is if you were a basketball player, would you hire a personal trainer to develop your basketball skills?
NO! A personal trainer will make you stronger, faster and build your endurance. Things which are very important, but whatever level you are at in basketball, will not change.
The only way you become a better player is to develop your foul shot, jump shot, your passing and dribbling skills etc. Most of all… playing in the game.
A voice teacher like a personal trainer will expand your range, strengthen your voice and build your vocal endurance through vocal exercises. Things which are very important, but whatever level you are at as a “singer” WILL NOT CHANGE!
The only way you become a better singer, is to develop your fundamentals by “SINGING SONGS” and developing the way you interpret a song, the way you deliver a song, and the way you perform a song. Most importantly, in time, you will acquire the vision to take the things you can do vocally and learn to put them in the right places to make the song happen. Without vision, you’re like a painter sitting in front of a canvas with every color and every kind of brush in front of you but with no idea what to paint! This is the way to find “your niche” as an artist, make you stand out and not be like everyone else. This is the way to a long term career.
Lastly… The stage will be your greatest teacher and the key to vocal greatness. Being developed is your road to Performing Live!
These are the things I develop in a singer by producing and recording them in the studio and rehearsing them in a live performance environment. THIS IS WHAT ARTIST VOCAL DEVELOPMENT IS ALL ABOUT.
LIVE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS
This is a six week workshop designed to improve vocal and performance skills.
Most importantly, to break down fear and build confidence and security when singing in front of people.
With Stevie’s assistance, each singer will pick two songs that will challenge their vocal and performance ability.
At each session, Stevie will work one on one with each singer on stage as the other participants act as the audience.
The focus will be on creating the best vocal interpretation and delivery for the song, and the best visual for the song.
